Accreditation - Botanical and Pictorial/Scenic, Terrill Bodner

We continue with our feature on accreditation this month by looking at two portfolios - botanical and pictorial scenic. The botanical category states: botanical photography is the accurate and/or beautiful images of plant life in both the natural and laboratory environments and the the pictorial/scenic category requires "images illustrate the natural and man-made geographical features relating to our environment". Member Terrill Bodner from Prince George, BC recently submitted portfolios in both categories and is now nationally accredited in both! Terrill is now an accredited member of the Professional Photographer's of Canada! Congratulations Terrill! I learned to use an Pentax SLR in grade 9 and continued with photography throughout high school, playing with double exposures and black and whites in my downstairs darkroom. Last year, I decided to become a professional, attended Image Explorations last July and our National Convention in Banff in 2011, learning whatever I could from accomplished photographers from all over North America. I have an in-home studio where I photograph mostly boudoir and individual photo sessions. I am the league photographer for the Prince George Minor Football Association for another season. I also create landscapes and fine art. I believe we should be accredited in everything we photograph. Prior to starting my studio work, I enjoyed the outdoors and nature so Pictoral/Scenic and Botanical Accreditations were a logical start. I achieved them both first time around with the help of my photographer friends and PPOC-BC’s Accreditation Review process. I entered National Salon in 2011 and received an Accepted and Merit on two of my images, both Pictorial! Getting my CPA is top of my list of goals and I take every opportunity to learn from the webinars and convention workshops and salons offered or promoted by PPOC. Getting my work judged and accepted by my peers gives me the confidence to say this is what I do and I am worth it!"
