MENTORSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 

The purpose of the mentorship program is to provide a successful onboarding experience for every new member in our organization. Through personalized mentoring, you will have a dedicated resource to help you navigate this new terrain and address all your questions. Your qualified Mentor will assist in accessing resources, leveraging benefits and ultimately submitting a portfolio towards YOUR FIRST ACCREDITATION.

 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

All you need to do is submit a quick (less than 5 minute) online application. Your completed form will be directed to the Mentorship Chair in your area. Once received, they will look through the information you’ve provided to match you with a qualified Mentor. You can typically expect an update on the status of your application, or an email introduction to your new Mentor within 7-10 days.

Once you meet your new Mentor, they will guide you through the intricacies of the PPOC. Over the next 6-10 months they will help you set up your online profile, show you how to access social channels, breakdown the accreditation process, among many other things.

The one-on-one mentorship program is unique to the PPOC and something we provide as a complimentary benefit (that’s right, it’s FREE for members).  Personalized guidance from some of the nation’s most decorated & respected photographic artists, just waiting to help you succeed!

 

WHO CAN REQUEST A MENTOR?

Any PPOC member who is not yet accredited can become a Protégé. Whether you’re seeking support in achieving your first accreditation or simply wanting guidance in navigating your PPOC membership, this program is for you! So, we invite any Observer (non-accredited) PPOC member, regardless of how long they have been part of the organization to enroll today.

Please recognize that this is not a business-mentoring program designed to teach you the art of photography, business management, photo editing, etc. We do encourage you to seek out this education on your own and take advantage of all the educational resources that come with membership.  And your Mentor will gladly make recommendations on various classes, courses and/or instructors as required. 

 

HOW DO I REGISTER?

That’s easy! All you need to do is Join the PPOC today. Once your membership is processed you will be able to access the PPOC website through the Members Portal.

Look to the top right corner of the site for the Login button. Click and enter your Username (your membership number, including the dash) and your password, and sign in.

This will open a similar page, but now with a MEMBERS dropdown link (to the right of Home).

Look for the Mentorship Program, and select.  Here you will find an active link to register for the Mentorship Program!

 

WHEN CAN I REGISTER FOR MENTORSHIP?

There is no waiting period required. You can register into the Mentorship program as soon as you become a member, so we invite you to BECOME A MEMBER today.
