Cyanotype Workshop with Victoria Prevot
With all the recent talk of AI, we are having a night of the essence of
Photography; the beginning.
Whether you are a fan of Anna Atkins, Sun Garden or a William Henry Fox
Talbot and his Iron Gall images. Come and try your hand at creating your own
unique Cyanotypes.
Join us for our Workshop on July 24, 6pm - 9pm in Burnaby.

What to expect
• There will be a brief introduction on the Cyanotype history and process. Then
the opportunity to be creative.
• This will be an in person, hands on event.
• No prior dark room experience required, all experience levels are welcome.
• The prepared Cyanotype paper will be provided for you.
• There will be an opportunity for you to create 2, 5x7 images.
What to bring
• Bring your negative transfers (5x7or 4x6), botanicals (fresh or dried) or even
some kind of a transfer (Stencil or even lace). Don’t have these? No
worries, we will have some botanicals on hand for you to try.
• Water bottle
Other notes
• Your image(s) will be damp when you leave you may want to prepare for that.
They usually take 12-24 hours to air dry.
*If you choose to bring fresh botanicals there is a possibility that with the
chemical reaction you may achieve more then a blue colour in your image.
About Victoria
I have been interested in Photography from a young age. Back then it was only
Analog Cameras and Darkrooms.
I started to get serious about Photography about 13 years ago buying my first
digital camera. I started to take classes here and there. Having my work shown
and being able to do presentations.
Life happens, long pause.
I found Langara CS Photography program; in 2017 I started to finally get to
work in the Darkroom and I was hooked!
For the better part of a year plus/minus I was in the Darkroom every Sunday for
four hours. Once I learned the basics I started to experiment. Loved it so much
I have built a Darkroom in my home.
I have recently been able to graduate Langara’s Photography program.
