LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE
(Submission by Jacquie Matechuk). Love Where you Live (Falling in love with HOME all over again) In a time of global limitations and incapacitated socialization, staying motivated with day-to-day life has been a challenge to say the least. And if you’re a photographic artist, well it’s likely the strain has affected not only your spirits but your pocketbook as well. Even with the tremendous support of organizations such as our beloved PPOC, there’s only so much time behind a keyboard one can handle.

VISION
(Submitted by Stefan Malloch.) Perhaps one of the most important aspect of photography, or anything for that matter, is vision. Without it, one may not even begin what might be a rewarding journey, a bucket list goal, or even a photo that has been floating around in the imagination forever.

They raise money for the local food bank. Last year we brought several of the characters into my home studio to get some “wicked” shots using strobes. Anyone who has seen my art will know that type of image is right up my alley. I love taking literary characters and bringing them to life and have been heavily influenced by Rembrandt and Film Noir type lighting.

Create And Unite Photography Project
CREATE AND UNITE was borne out of the desire to encourage photographers, both PPOC members and non-members, to keep up with their craft, or to provide inspiration for them to try something new, when they suddenly found themselves sidelined by the pandemic. As Canada ground to a halt, all nonessential busniess ceased - including photography sessions. This temporary closure of business challenged photographers to look to the confines of their homes in new and unique ways.

FINDING NEOWISE - PRACTICAL TIPS ON ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY
(Story by Sean McKinnon). In late July, as a welcome distraction from all things COVID-19, the world’s attention was briefly diverted to Comet C/2020 F3, better known as Comet NEOWISE. NEOWISE is named after the Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer space telescope that discovered the comet on March 27, 2020.
